Treasurer’s Report - 2025

An overview of our budget for the year ahead

As part of our board’s focus on transparency, we’ve prepared an overview of our budgetary outline for 2025. This budget was prepared by our Treasurer, Jason Barnard, and was unanimously ratified by the Board of Directors.

For questions on this, please feel free to reach out to Jason directly.

Hello, Seattle Frontrunners!! Happy New Year!!  After many discussions with the other Board members on where we want to allocate our funds, I am pleased to present the 2025 Seattle Frontrunners Budget.

I expect us to end 2024 with approximately $26,000 in cash, of which $14,000 is allocated to our three reserve funds, leaving $12,000 in our general fund. Due to this surplus, the 2025 Budget has a projected deficit in order to utilize these excess funds.

We are aiming to have total revenues of $27,000, which includes a $5,000 sponsorship from Brooks! The remaining revenues come from our membership dues and Benevity. Benevity is a program where your employer, if enrolled, donates funds to a charity of your choice (like the Seattle Frontrunners) based on your volunteer activities. If you are interested in knowing more about Benevity and how it can help the Seattle Frontrunners, please contact Ari.

As part of our support for Run & Walk with Pride, we will be donating $2,000 to this event.

The biggest portion of our budget is for Events, with $13,000 allocated to them. Over half of this is to continue our monthly Frontie Friday gatherings. This past year, we also had special events with the Brooks store event and the Halloween run. Given the success of each of these events, we’re planning to continue them in the coming year, and are preparing for new events as well.

Our membership and communications budget of $6,000 includes over $1,000 for more race support events like we had at the Seattle Marathon, and almost $2,000 for advertising in the Seattle Times if we are honored again by their selection of RWWP as a top charitable event. Additionally, we have included funding for the running workshops that Vice President Jason Van Beveren has been working very hard on setting up.

Our infrastructure budget of $6,000 represents our non-discretionary costs of running the Seattle Frontrunners organization. This includes $3,000 for insurance, $2,000 for our IT infrastructure and $1,000 for taxes, dues and other registrational activities.

Our DEI budget of $3,000 includes $1,500 for promoted races (where we pay your registration fees) and $1,500 for other initiatives. As part of our support of Lambert House, we will begin to help collect donations from our members. We are aiming for member donations of $1K to support the costs of these dinners.

Finally, our Budget includes allocating $1,000 for the 40th Anniversary party. More details on that to come.
